you know, it's been a while since da5id and i made actual "Dance Music". having ridden the trance train about as far as we possibly could on Nympho and Re:Vision, we kind of said "no more" when we started working on Beyond.
so, now we've done Beyond and Arena, and those albums have their own sound for sure, not dance music but something that's probably a little more interesting. and since Arena won't be out for a while (August 18th, to be exact), we started working on a single to promote it.
the single is for the track 'Come Together', which is the first track on Arena, and definitely one of my personal favorites from the album. and we though, maybe we should do some club mixes.
i'll admit, it's been a while since i set out to make some music to shake your ass to. and it's pretty fuckin fun, i have to say...
the mixes are sounding quite amazing, and i challenge anyone to try and stand still while listening to these. if DJ's don't pick these tracks up and use them to rock the dancefloor, then they will certainly be depriving people of achieving maximum ass shake-age.
the 'Come Together' single will be available on July 21st from Metropolis.

informatik will take your questions now
so, da5id and i want to do a video interview type of thing in advance of the upcoming album [ARENA], sort of in the diggnation style, where we take questions from fans, etc.
if you have anything you've always wanted to ask us (eg; "why haven't you guys done a proper US tour"), or wanted to know more about (eg; "why is tyler always wearing a vest") or just want to tell us how awesome we are (eg; "i really loved syntax, whats with all this shitty rock music you're doing these days"), this is your chance.
questions will not be censored, but we do reserve the right to select only the 10 best (we don't want to make this an epic feature film). i'm going to try and keep this to one take, so it's as "real" and honest as possible.
if you wanna know anything, please post it in the comments, and i'll let you know when the video is complete. ps, i'm not gonna answer any questions posed in the comments, in the comments. you're just gonna have to wait like everyone else ;)
thanks everyone!

so, we're extremely close to the end of making ARENA! right now we're proofing the artwork, and doing some last minute layout decisions. all the mixes and mastering are complete, and the record sounds pretty fucking amazing, i have to say.
i think people are definitely going to be surprised when they hear this album. the new direction that we're heading in is more well defined on this record, and the remixes are definitely some of the best we've ever gotten. but even so, there's stuff that will even please the older fans who won't let go of Syntax (seriously, we love you guys, but c'mon that record is a decade old now!).
overall, its been a good experience putting this record together, and i think it sounds better than any of the other albums we've made. it definitely feels like the sum of our combined musical experience, i would say.
my next post should hopefully have the final album artwork to show you. the artwork this time around is a big departure from previous albums, in my opinion, but really symbolizes the direction of the new material.
